IFS researchers took part in the International Conference on Motivation & Emotion (ICM) in Bern.

The International Conference on Motivation & Emotion 2024 took place in Bern from August 28 to 30. The theme of the conference was “Motivation & Emotion: Resources and challenges for teaching, learning, and research”.

The IFS was represented with several contributions and can look back on interesting presentations and exciting discussions.
On August 28, Anne Kosubek spoke on the topic of “Empowering education” and how teacher motivation fuels learner motivation via teaching quality.
On August 29, Dr. Alyssa Grecu presented results from a longitudinal study with Polish elementary schools, which focuses on school enjoyment and intersecting disparities.
On August 30, Dr. Elisabeth Graf discussed situational and longitudinal relations between appraisals, anxiety and learning during self-testing.
Professor Hanna Gaspard (university lecturer and SIG08 coordinator) and Anne Kosubek (doctoral student) also took part in the ICM Summer School. This had already taken place two days earlier, on August 26 and 27. On both days, doctoral students from all over the world presented their projects and exchanged ideas. The overarching aim of the event was collaboration and the further development of knowledge and research.

We are delighted to have been part of this year's ICM and congratulate our speakers on their successful participation!
