Inaugural lectures of the FK12 with Charlotte Dignath and Hanna Gaspard

For the first time since the pandemic, the Dean's Office again invited to inaugural lectures. The three recently appointed professors (including Charlotte Dignath and Hanna Gaspard) took the opportunity to introduce themselves to the staff and colleagues of Faculty 12.

Charlotte Dignath, who holds a habilitation in psychology and previously worked as the head of the research area Promotion of School Learning Processes and the Emmy Noether Group SeLFI at the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Human Development and Educational Information in Frankfurt, has been Professor of Empirical Educational Research with a focus on the promotion of cognitive and motivational-affective learning processes at the Institute since October 2022. In her lecture, she addressed the question "Self-regulation in learning in elementary school - contradiction or opportunity?" and gave an overview of her previous research as well as an outlook on future projects in this context.

This was followed by the presentation of Hanna Gaspard. She explored the question "Why should I learn this? Fostering Value Beliefs through Interventions and Classroom Action" and guided through her research design based on this guiding question. In addition to the results of the interventions, she also provided an outlook. Hanna Gaspard has been a professor of Educational Data Science since March 2023. She completed her habilitation in Empirical Educational Research and Educational Psychology at the University of Tübingen in 2020, where she was initially a junior research group leader at the Hector Institute before taking up the position of substitute professor for Empirical Educational Research in the Context of Social Heterogeneity at IFS in November 2020.
