The project DoProfiL – The Dortmund Profile for Inclusion-Oriented Teacher Education has not only significantly contributed to strengthening teacher education at the Technical University of Dortmund but has also advanced the systematic focus on inclusion orientation, which forms the foundation for various research and teaching projects.

How can cultural, religious, social, sexual, gender, linguistic, ethnic, intellectual, and physical diversity in society be learned and lived as a topic in educational contexts – particularly in the digital age?

This entails developing innovative disciplinary, subject didactic, special education, educational science, and higher education didactic concepts and formats for interdisciplinary teaching events and providing the necessary institutionally supported structures. The starting point for this is broad, interdisciplinary research that addresses both disciplinary fundamentals, advances subject didactic development, and investigates educational and rehabilitation science questions, connecting these fields with each other.

This anthology provides insights into the 7-year project duration and showcases not only the fundamental pillars and principles of the project but also central results, structures, and networks that emerged from the numerous interdisciplinary discourses. The focus is not solely on the diverse outcomes of the project but also on the future ahead.
