Sustainable learning and a new examination culture

In their article, Prof. Silvia-Iris Beutel, Dr. Michaele Geweke and Ramona Lau discuss the importance of sustainability in context of school learning and as part of a new examination culture. They highlight the connection to current social challenges and global crises such as the financial crisis, the coronavirus pandemic and climate change and emphasize ways to deal with uncertainties in context of a new culture of teaching and learning. In this regard the importance of a new examination culture is discussed that aims to promote students’ judgment, decision-making and action skills and thus empower learners to face political and social challenges with creativity and competence. The article offers practical examples of innovative forms of teaching and learning.
