On April 18, Professor Sauro Civitillo from Utrecht University was a guest at the lecture series.

On April 18, we welcomed Professor Sauro Civitillo from Utrecht University to the second session of this semester's lecture series. This semester, international and national experts will be highlighting the overarching theme of "Thriving in the digital world: How to foster student skills and well-being" with their lectures. Professor Civitillo's lecture "The Links between Perceived School-Based Ethnic Discrimination and Adjustment: Evidence from Systematic Reviews, Daily Diary studies, and Experiments" dealt with the connection between perceived ethnic discrimination at school and students' adjustment. He presented a comprehensive research program on perceived discrimination in the school context. It became clear that the perception of discrimination is negatively related to school outcomes, such as pupils' performance and well-being. In addition, approaches were presented on how prospective teachers can be sensitized to the topic of ethnic discrimination during their studies.

We would like to thank Professor Civitillo for his exciting contribution and the stimulating exchange!
