Against the backdrop of the diverse global social crises and risks to the existence of democracy, the article shows how schools can shape their democratic culture and civic function in cooperation with non-school partners. The thematic focus of the yearbooks on uncertainty, conflict and transformation shows that a variety of perspectives from school pedagogy, general didactics, socialisation research, educational philosophy, political education, democracy pedagogy and democracy education can contribute to shaping the future resiliently and creatively in the spirit of democracy.
